Driving back from a delicious lunch at the Bighorn Bar & Grill on Saturday, we noticed an odd patch of smoke in the sky on the east side of town. Or was it a strange type of cloud? Or perhaps something happening at Malmstrom Air Force Base, which hosted “Mission Over Malmstrom” today – a combination open house/air show.
From the event website: “This once-in-a-lifetime event will showcase the capabilities of the U.S. Military to the public and enhance recruiting efforts in a safe and secure environment. Some of our aerial displays include the Army’s Golden Knights Jump Team, Brian Correll Airshows, Lightning Formations, Acemaker and more.”
So the smoke/cloud was from aerial demonstrations and some pyrotechnics; here’s an example shared by my friend Angie:
