Gave the Pit Stop Tavern & Raceway Cafe another test drive (heh) the other day – only our second time there.
It’s located at 1600 25th Avenue NE in Black Eagle, and opened in 2012.
There are three parts to the large building: the main dining area, which is huge and features four billiards tables and a few electronic games – including an actual PINBALL MACHINE (bonus cool points!).
There is also the “tavern” part on the west side of the building, featuring a bar and standard casino/gambling machines, and a decent-sized banquet/party room on the east side of the building.
The specialty here is the broasted chicken – and you can order huge amounts for parties, too!
I opted (of course) for a bacon cheeseburger and fries – both were adequate, but not great. I should have been smart and followed my wife’s lead by ordering the chicken – she loved it, and it looked absolutely juicy, crisp, and delicious. We also had fried pickles and some soft pretzels as appetizers, and both were very good.
Service was very friendly, and pretty quick – although there was only one other table when we were there, so it probably wasn’t too hard to keep up 🙂
Overall: a fun place, and next time I will get the chicken. Click here to check out the Facebook page.
