It’s been a while since we’ve featured a “Dad Chimes In” entry – so here’s one featuring Dad and his lovely wife Jacqui IN PERSON! That’s right, they arrived in Great Falls yesterday, visiting from hot hot hot Austin, Texas, and they were soooo relieved to enjoy the milder temperatures (and lack of humidity) here in Montana!
Some highlights from Thursday: they flew in to Billings and scored a sweet Jeep Patriot rental and drove to Great Falls – and said that they were amazed at how friendly the people they met along the way were. They’ve noted that during each of their visits to Montana, by the way. They stopped a few times along the way, including a stop at Eddie’s Corner, each time asking for directions, and I am so proud of my fellow Montanans for making, as always, such a wonderful impression.
Then the hotel – the Staybridge Suites – which blew me away. VERY nice hotel, and the little “mini shop” in the lobby even features Wilcoxson’s ice-cream – w00t! The best part: the view from the courtyard in the back – an amazing view of the river, the tower, etc.
And then on to dinner: I treated them to 3-D in Black Eagle, and they loved it. Of course. Always in my “top five” for local eateries!
Then a quick stop to give them a tour of where I work, and they got to meet Tim, Katie, and of course Fred!
