The Russians Are Coming!

Actually, the Russians have already come and gone. Great Falls played host to five Russian physicians last week, courtesy of Bob Harris and the GF Advisory Commission on International Relationships. The doctors toured Benefis Hospital, Great Falls Clinic, and other area attractions, and on Friday they toured the clinic at Malmstrom Air Force Base and enjoyed lunch with the Wing Commander and clinic staff members (including me).
The Russians were all extremely nice, and they really enjoyed their entire trip. When I asked them through the translator what they have enjoyed the most about their trip, they all agreed: “Everything!” The doctors even got to enjoy Halloween for the first time, and their respective host families helped them dress up in costume. It was neat to hear them speaking – Russian is a beautiful language. By the way, when they visited Malmstrom on Friday, the four male doctors wore standard business suits, but the lone female doctor, Tatyana, was clearly turning into a Montanan: she was sporting a flannel shirt, blue jeans, and a large belt buckle…cool clothes need no translation!
