I suspect that anyone who is not from Montana would be slightly puzzled by the headline highlighted in red below. Or assume that it was some sort of a boxing match between two fighters with descriptive names.
And I use the word “local” very, very loosely. I’m sure most of you know that the US Navy is planning to shoot down a failing satellite soon, in order to break it up far overhead, rather than have it crash into the earth and possibly spread some toxic chemicals. Read The Whole Thing >>> Here is the “breaking news” that the Tribune posted earlier today: Navy to shoot down satellite minutes after it passes over Montana The crippled satellite that the U.S. Navy plans to try and shoot down tonight passed directly over Great Falls Tuesday night and...
An interesting celebrity link between Great Falls and Hollywood…well, pseudo-Hollywood, at least. Danny Lopez, a part-time Great Falls resident, is getting some great press for his uncanny resemblance to Johnny Depp (most recently seen in “Sweeney Todd”). Read The Whole Thing >>> In addition to Being Johnny Depp, Lopez is also known for his mimicry of George Harrison, Davey Jones, and Keith Richards. But the hot ticket right now is Depp – look at these pix of Lopez and see if you can spot the difference. Check out the rest of Lopez’s site – very impressive (although he would...
This probably doesn’t interest too many grown-ups, but I’d wager that there are plenty of “tweens” in town that are excited about “Hannah Montana 3D,” which will begin playing at the Carmike theater on Friday. The movie is already setting some pre-release records, apparently, and might be the reason that the server for the Carmike company is currently down (as of 11:57 pm Wednesday night). UPDATE, Thursday morning: Carmike site is back up, and it looks like advance tickets are $15, and $18 at the door. The show will play at 1:00, 3:00, 5:00, 7:00, and 9:00 each day...
The good folks over at Banik have put together a comprehensive page detailing the what, where, why, and how of their “We Make Contact” campaign. As I mentioned before, I think they did a great job – probably the best overall marketing project I’ve seen locally.
If you, like me, were disappointed when the movie “Sweeney Todd” didn’t make it to Great Falls when it premiered in the rest of the country last month, you can now rejoice: it’s playing at the Carmike theater! I saw it tonight, and it was absolutely amazing.
