New & Improved (?)

So…what do you think? I finally upgraded my WordPress installation, which enabled me to test-drive some new Themes (background, style, etc). Took some tweaking under the hood, but I think it’s working OK. Still need to tinker a bit. Can’t figure out why the Archives page doesn’t work, though, although the Monthly listings can be found in the right sidebar if you scroll down below the Recent Posts. But overall, it seems to be functioning and looks (to me) pretty cool. What say you? UPDATE: yay! Found a new plug-in to get the Archives working. MORE: hope you like...

The Heart of Montana

Thursday, June 19, 2008

Back in February 2006, the Tribune was looking for nicknames for Great Falls. My suggestion was “The Heart of Montana”: Read The Whole Thing >>> My submission was “The Heart Of Montana,” because it seems to me that Great Falls really does embody much of what makes Montana great, and of course our relatively central location lends weight to being called “the heart” of the state. Our fair community is directly between the majestic Rockies and the sweeping plains; mostly between Canada and America; and definitely between urban and rural. Think we also set a mid-June record with a temp of 32 degrees. And now…a collection of things that have been waiting patiently to be released into the wild: - 3101 Ivy Drive: this is how I like to see real estate done – with a dedicated website for a property! Mind you, this isn’t just any house – this is the nifty concrete gig up on the hill; over 6,700...

Don’t forget that some of our cool local bloggers are also in business; some use their blog as their business site, in fact. Check ‘em out! Read The Whole Thing >>> Beatrix, of the Roots & Leaves blog, just launched her Root & Leaf business website. If you’re in the market for herbs and spices – or a therapeutic massage – give her a call. Josh Hutchins, besides being a great blogger (and AF veteran, and rock-n-roller), is also a realtor who specializes in eco-friendly practices. Janna Miller is an awesome photographer, a good friend and citizen, and also...

Around the Great Falls ‘Sphere

GF Girl posts about the proposed start date for the coal plant, and also the recent activity – or lack thereof – of Electric City Power. Dave offers a traffic suggestion, to which I add: how about a left-turn light at 23rd Street & 10th Ave South? He also tells us about an odd theft. Great Falls Scanner offers up some humorous tips for dealing with “tailgaters.” Newly-promoted Shannon attended the Obama rally with some friends, and received some VIP treatment. Why? She offers one possible reason. And while Todd and Kelly celebrate the graduation of one son, they...
