Collins, Montana

A couple of years ago, we drove out to a small antiques/collectibles sale in Collins. It’s a little spot in Teton County a few miles west of I-15 between Dutton and Brady.

Lots of fun stuff that we saw for sale – along with some sheep!

Collins isn’t a city, town, or village; Gary S. said on Flickr: “Once a station on the Great Falls & Canada Railroad, a narrow gauge line that ran between Great Falls and Lethbridge, Collins is now a siding on the BNSF line north of Dutton.”

According to the U.S. Board on Geographic Names, the post office “opened as Brighton 6/30/1890. Name changed to Collins 1/23/1891 and closed 7/03/1893. Reestablished 7/26/1895 as Brighton and changed to Collins 2/02/1903 and closed 4/30/1961.”
