Kind of in shock over the death of a Cascade County Sheriff’s Deputy on Thursday…the kind of tragedy that affects so many people and ripples across the entire community. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t give silent thanks to law-enforcement officers, and this is one of the reasons — they have taken an oath to protect us and our community, even at the risk of their own lives.
But on a slightly more positive note, it’s heartening to see so many people are stepping up to donate to help the family — Cory Smith and his team created a GoFundMe page within hours, and donations have been pouring in. Especially touching is to see that Lithia donated $1,000. My sincere condolences to the family of the Deputy, to Sheriff Edwards, and everyone up on the hill.
