Sheriff Edwards issued a challenge to a bunch of folks in and around Great Falls — including me, by name!
The challenge: get doused with a couple of buckets of ice-cold water — or else pony up $50 to help Ryan United.
And since Bob wouldn’t dare challenge anyone without being willing to undergo the “punishment” himself — well, you know he’s truly one of the good guys! Watch:
bobby gets doused
Since one of the things that I absolutely hate is GETTING WET, this one was a no-brainer — I donated to Ryan United!
UPDATE: Ha! Some of my co-workers took the challenge during the evening newscast! I did my part by being one of the water-throwers
Saw this along 2nd Avenue South near 7th Street on Tuesday morning…not quite sure what to make of it. There’s also a damaged car parked in front of the VW.
June in Montana: We had scheduled an appointment to have our air-conditioning system get a “check up” now that summer is almost here.
Tech was supposed to come today…but a few minutes after 8 a.m., we got a voicemail from the company saying that it is TOO COLD for them to perform the maintenance check – said that it needs to be at least 60 degrees, and with the current temp at 49 degrees and not much hope for a big warm-up, they would need to re-schedule.
So: on June 19th, it’s too cold to have an a/c unit serviced in Great Falls, Montana.
Er…actually, that should be one HUMP or two! This is Lumpy the camel. He is in charge of sugar cubes in our house. He was a very thoughtful birthday present for my wife from dear friends Dan and Scot.
Wait a minute…how the heck does BILLINGS rate FIVE Wendy’s, while Great Falls only gets ONE? Billings sure doesn’t have five times as many people as Great Falls. And Bozeman and Missoula and Kalispell get two each – huh?
According to Wendy’s, Great Falls gets the same level of respect as Miles City…now, I’m not knocking Miles City, but come on…it has a population of fewer than 9,000 — less than 1/6th the size of Great Falls.
Seriously, Wendy’s, you’ve got to bump up Great Falls to two locations — and I can think of a few spots on the NW side of town that would be *perfect*!
Grrrr. The bison/fish sculpture near the 1st Avenue North bridge has been vandalized. I absolutely love those bison sculptures around town.
Vandals are jackasses. Period. Hope whoever did this gets caught.
If you know who did it, call GFPD Crimestoppers at 406-727-8477.
From the Trib:
The “rainboffalo” statue that has greeted passers-by along the River’s Edge Trial at the east end of the 1st Avenue North Bridge since 2009 was vandalized sometime in the past several days, losing its fins to criminal mischief.
The damage occurred in two waves, River’s Edge Trail board member Karen Wicks said Tuesday afternoon. A leg fin was broken off but recovered late last week, she said, and the other fin and tail torn off and stolen over the weekend. The damage was reported to Great Falls police Monday.
