Sign at 2-J’s — always cracks me up — smart chicken!
In the parking lot of the Longhorn Casino — sweet oranges for sale, with a convenient “drive-thru!”
And a classic – mad cow! It’s the backing from a pack of fridge magnets.
Ed Kemmick, who worked for the Billings Gazette for a long time and was one of the first Montana folks to grok “blogging,” recently launched a new site called LastBestNews.com — and it should definitely be on your list of “sites to visit regularly.”
The most recent entry is an interview that Ed had with Max Lenington, the Yellowstone County treasurer, who has been in the news recently for using some racially-charged language.
Ed writes: “I decided I had to go interview Lenington, to find out what he was thinking, to find out what he hoped to accomplish. To find out, basically, what the hell? So, what did I learn? Well, for starters, that I shouldn’t characterize him as a racist.”
Closer to Great Falls, Ed recently posted a neat entry about the Shonkin Sag, the intriguing and beautiful area (roughly) between Highwood and Geraldine/Square Butte.
Any of you heard anything about Old Navy pulling out of the Great Falls Marketplace?
SixSpot posted on Twitter that he noticed a lease listing for the Old Navy space on a realty site.
UPDATE: Whew! Got unofficial word that Old Navy is NOT closing its Great Falls store! Apparently the listing is only a reference to a new owner for the building, and not an “invitation” for a new tenant in the Old Navy space. Very happy — I don’t shop for clothes very often, but when I do, Old Navy is almost always one of the very few places that I hit up.
