Progress on the Celtic Cowboy in downtown Great Falls has come to a halt, unfortunately – it was supposed to open today, but they are having trouble with one of their suppliers:

I have never been in a position where I had NO control over the outcome of a situation, but now I find myself at a total loss, promises were made and based on those promises we made decisions, such as opening date , etc. Unfortunately all of those promises have been broken by Prairie Pacific Pubs, as a matter of fact, they haven’t made a SINGLE promised date.

  1. Maybe it has something to do with the Celtic Cowboy not even being on their list of projects. http://www.prairiepacificpubs.com/home.html
Do you think they forgot that the project was there?

It is disappointing that Great Falls can’t open a homegrown Irish pub, but instead has to be part of a chain. Loses some of its appeal to me. Chains are all the same.

  2. From what I can glean on the internet, Prairie Pacific Pubs, located in Calgary, creates made-to-order Irish bars for customers. So I am not sure whether this is a traditional franchise or more of an instant custom bar manufacturer. Maybe a little of both.

In any case, it doesn’t sound very authentic to me. But maybe the food will be good.
