Aye Carumba

If you enjoy Mexican food, there’s good news and bad news: the good news is that Great Falls will soon be home to Cafe Rio, a Utah-based chain. It’s taking the spot formerly occupied by Hollywood Video. The bad news is that La Pastada on 9th Avenue South will be closing in a few days.

Surprisingly, I never got around to trying La Pastada, but I did enjoy their commercials. Never heard of Cafe Rio until today – sounds pretty good (but their website makes my head hurt).

Of course, this will generate a whole new round of “local versus chain” arguments.

La Pastada is a very good restaurant that will be missed…you should make it there before it closes.

El Corral is supposed to be reopening, once the remodel of the Brick is finished. Not to sound negative, but I’m not holding my breath.
