More: Moving To Great Falls

The “Moving To Great Falls” entry from a few years ago has generated some helpful comments, so it’s probably time to review it and see if you smart folks can offer up more advice and tips.
Yesterday, a college student in Great Falls left this comment (excerpt):

I’m a college student this year at Montana State University, Great Falls College of Technology. I was wondering how to go about finding an apartment. I currently have no rental history and EVERYWHERE I look, I’m REQUIRED to have 2 previous rental histories. I was told by one landlord that I could submit the application, but being that I didn’t have a rental history, they more than likely would not consider me. This is rather discouraging…it makes finding an apartment, well, rather hard and frankly disappointing. The time remaining in my current situation is running out…the only things that I have found that DON’T require a history, are not safe (if you Google an address, and it comes up with 4 people living in that building as registered sex offenders, its not safe by my standards). Any kind of advice or guidance or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you SOOO much!

Well, this previous entry about “For Rent” in Great Falls might offer some leads, but any of you have suggestions, let’s hear ’em!

  1. I’m sorry to hear about your bad luck with finding an apartment. I work at MSU-GF COT and we have compiled a Housing and Child Care Guide for people to use as a resource in finding a place to live for example. The school does not endorse any of these businesses, this is strictly just a resource of what we have heard of through past students or from businesses contacting the school and wanting to be included on the list.

Just click on the link below and it will take you to the brochure: http://www.msugf.edu/students/pdf/HousingChildcareGuide.pdf

    Hope this helps!
