Saw a trailer for a remake of “True Grit” yesterday. Not sure what to think…the original is one of my favorite movies – nearly impossible to beat the casting. John Wayne is near-flawless, Kim Darby is the very model of “true grit,” and yes, I even thought Glenn Campbell did a great job.
I might check out the new version out of curiosity…can the Coen Brothers pull it off? Can they add anything to it? And Bridges and Brolin in the cast – awesome actors, in my book – the first for “The Fabulous Baker Boys” and the latter for “Planet Terror.”
Early reviews are that it’s supposed to be good. I’m going to catch it.
