Great Falls Blog Meet

Thanks to GeeGuy for organizing the weekend Blog Meet and being such a great host! He did the whole “herding cats” thing and pulled it off well. Mad props to Wulfgar, who traveled up (down?) from Bozeman to share some wisdom on the subject of “Expectations” in the world of blogging.

He and GeeGuy spearheaded some interesting discussions among the assembled geeks – notably about the use and abuse of anonymity and pseudonyms. And Wulfgar, as one of the pioneering Big Sky Bloggers, has seen just about everything in the blogosphere, and was able to impart both knowledge and humor. It was so cool to finally meet him in person! We disagree on some politics, but I have great affection for this guy (and fellow MeFite!).

It was neat to meet some other online folks F2F, too, and also see local civic leaders who understand the online community. Mark, Ron, Sandra, Mary, and others – thanks for being part of this community – and I do mean community.

Praise also for the folks at Treasure State Network, who also traveled to be part of our gathering and also picked up the lunch tab; TSN is a newish group with some good projects and I believe a promising future.

Cool, a “blog meet” I’d love to know more about that. When is the next Blog Meet? I am new to Montana (please don’t hold that against me) ;) I have fallen in love with the state and look forward to being a part of this online community.
