Got an e-mail from Aaron about a nifty event downtown:
Cub Scout Pack 26 will be selling popcorn at a table at Everyday IGA tomorrow, January 31, from 1 – 4 p.m. Please buy some popcorn to help support your local Pack!
Trail’s End popcorn is delicious. We are selling tins of candied and cheese popcorn, in addition to microwavable bags of Unbelievable Butter, Butter Light and Kettle Corn. Tubs of popcorn kernels are also available.
Your support so far this year has helped Lower North and South side Scouts in activities like: attend a Great Falls Voyagers Baseball Game; swimming Lessons at GF Natatorium; attend the Corn Maize in Vaughn; Fall Camporee; and much more!
Your support helps our kids with all of these activities with many more to come this Spring and Summer. Please stop by the IGA tomorrow to buy some popcorn. While you are at it, please thank the owner of the store, Rich Chadwick, for his support and for letting us set up a table there. Please forward this email to anyone you know, and encourage them to buy popcorn tomorrow as well!
I’m a big fan of Everyday IGA (and tubs of popcorn!), and this sounds like a great way to support the local kids. The store is located on 1st Avenue North, next to the Stein Haus. Kudos to Aaron and the IGA crew for putting this together!
Noticed that the Snap Fitness location on the NW side of town has opened for business; it’s in the building in the Big Bear/K-Mart parking lot.
The other Snap Fitness is in the Target center.
I don’t ask for much – just your unfaltering allegiance and daily viewing. But seriously – if you ever want to help support GreaterFalls.com, I really appreciate your consideration and kindness. Here’s a few ways that you can help:
You just can’t go wrong with a Manly Man Candle – for yourself or as a gift, it just might be the world’s most perfect product. I love ’em, and recommend the Cedar Forest and the Wild Alaska candles.
Looking for books and movies that feature Great Falls and Montana? You can help me out by purchasing from Amazon.com at my “Greater Falls & Montana Page!” Great gift ideas, too. If you purchase something on that page (or anything else on Amazon after clicking through), a few coins come my way.
And, of course, donations via PayPal are always appreciated (thanks to KF for her donation last week!). A few bucks will go a long way…
Stumbled across Bennett Bitts, a new blog from the folks at Bennett Motors. It’s cool to see a local business blogging. They’ve got some company highlights and birthdays, a few community service announcements, and such.
Related: Thanks, Bennett Motors and Word Of Mouth.
The only other Great Falls business blog that I know of is Pacific Steel & Recycling…if you know of any others, let me know!
If you’re an arts & crafts person, there’s still time to get down to the Ben Franklin craft store in town; heard that the last day it will be open is Saturday. Still some pretty good bargains to be had before the doors shut for good. And slightly off-topic: the BF corporate site offers a glimpse into and links about the man behind the name: He became famous for being a scientist, an inventor, a statesman, a printer, a philosopher, a musician, and an economist.
Need a little feedback: I’m test-driving a new “widget”-like feature over at KRTV.com and want to know what you think of it. It’s the story about GF students who went snowshoeing as part of a new “get outdoors” program; instead of trying to fit three or four small pictures in the story, I used the new “widget” program to create a slideshow. If you’ve got a minute, take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks!
ALSO: did you know that if you type the word SNOWSHOE more than a few times within several minutes, the word SNOESHOW begins to look normal?
