SAM at 107.3

Happy Birthday! It’s been nearly three years since the FM dial in Great Falls got a jolt: the “X” at 107.3 became SAM @ 107.3, adopting an eclectic playlist that targets more than just one genre. At the time of the switch, there were a few people who were upset that Great Falls no longer had an “alternative” rock station, but I think that some of that “alternative” stuff has leaked onto other stations recently, such as Q-106 and K-99.
So let’s hear it from you: do you like SAM? What’s your favorite FM station? Is there a format or genre missing from Great Falls?

  1. It’s nice to have a variety in music, no matter what the genre may be. There’s always going to be mixed feelings when it comes to a Format flip. Especially, when “The X” was the ONLY station that played the harder stuff, along with some really cool mellow stuff. Now what you hear is a station that is a “Satellite Fed”. No need to pay people to work & give it love and attention. All in all….Like “The Who” sang alongtime ago…People forget….Great job with your site. Keep Rockin’ Dave!!

  2. The dropping of the “X” good and secured my purchase of Sirius Satellite radio. The only time I even listen to local radio is the little bit of time I spend in a company vehicle and then I usually get annoyed by the stupid local commercials, especially the furniture commercials every five minutes and end up putting in a cd. I’ve had Sirius for a few years now and will never go back.

  3. We’re all good with genre’s I think. Now all we have to do is to try and figure out how to rid ourselves of the “hip-hop”.
