(entry bumped to top) It’s almost here: the greatest holiday of all – Independence Day! There’s a handy page on the Great Falls city website that details events for the 4th of July and fireworks rules and safety. Here’s a quick summary:

Within City limits, fireworks are only allowed on July 2, 3 and 4 from 8 a.m. to midnight and must be used only on private property; they are NOT allowed in parks, on streets, cul-de-sacs, or public parking lots. Children seven and younger must have a supervising adult within 10 feet. County locations are not restricted.
The parade begins at 11am on July 4; the route begins on First Avenue South at Park Drive and winds east to 8th Street, and then north to Central Avenue and then west back to the Civic Center.
The City fireworks display will begin around 10:15 pm at West Bank Park.
Street closure information can be found here.

Everybody have fun – and be safe! – on Independence Day!
