Two sky-related things: first, the brief storms yesterday evening created at least one rainbow. Here’s a phone-pix of one south of town (click for full-size):
Second, got an e-mail from Aaron with a tip about the “Moon Illusion” that you might be able to see tonight:
On Wednesday night, June 18th, step outside at sunset and look around. You’ll see a giant form rising in the east. At first glance it looks like the full Moon. It has craters and seas and the face of a man, but this “moon” is strangely inflated. It’s huge! You’ve just experienced the Moon Illusion.
According to the linked article, we should be able to see the Moon Illusion beginning around 9:02 pm tonight, and around 9:45 pm tomorrow night.
