Saturday night we hit -13, wind chill -30. Yesterday it was 51 degrees. And now:
A Snow and Blowing Snow Advisory remains in effect from 11 am this morning to 11 PM MST this evening. A fast moving Pacific storm system and surface cold front will bring snow and blowing snow to north central Montana from early this afternoon through tonight. Snow accumulations of up to 4 inches on the plains… and 4 to 8 inches in the central mountains are expected during this time. Blowing snow is expected this afternoon as well… with winds gusting to 45 mph from the north. Visibilities will be less than one half mile at times as well. My response: Bring It On! Check the forecast for updates.
UPDATE, 5:15 pm: woohoo! Snow started around 8:30 this morning and hasn’t stopped yet! And as advertised, it is indeed “blowing snow!” Roads are pretty bad – everyone PLEASE be careful, keep your distance, and watch your speed.
