Whew! There has been a lot of activity here at GreaterFalls.com the last couple of weeks – thanks in no small part to the mystery of WeMakeContact. For folks that are new to this site, here’s a quick primer on what you need to know:
GreaterFalls.com is a “web log” – commonly referred to as a “blog.” It differs from a traditional website in that it is updated frequently – often daily – and encourages feedback on entries in the form of comments from any visitors (readers). The topic of this website is, obviously, Great Falls. You can learn why I began this site, and a little about me, at the About/Contact page. You can also use that page to send me e-mail, if you don’t want to fire up your desktop e-mail client.
In addition to just reading the front page and recent entries, you can also scroll through the Archives – every entry dating back to the first post in May 2005. If you get tired of reading my musings, you can check out the other Great Falls bloggers – a really great group of people, including web-savvy folks, at least one lawyer and doctor, military members and spouses, a few media folks and photographers, a realtor, and more. What they all have in common: Great Falls!
There is also a Subscribe page, where you can sign up to receive e-mail updates whenever a new entry is posted here, or you can subscribe using your favorite feed reader (such as Bloglines).
Over in the sidebars – the two columns along the right side of the page – are links to the most recent comments from visitors and the most recent entries by me. There’s also a handy Google search feature, the current weather via Wunderground, and recent pictures that I’ve taken. And there are plenty of links to local sites – the official City and County websites, radio and TV sites, and some other local places. You’ll also notice some Amazon.com links to Montana-themed stuff (books, DVDs, etc) and a few ads from Google. If any of those links look interesting (how can you not love the title “Psycho Sheep of Butte!”), go ahead and click through to purchase – anything you buy from Amazon via this page will add a few pennies to my bank account and help support GreaterFalls.com (thanks!)!
