Dimitris Grand Opening

Friday night Krista and I ventured forth to test-drive the newest eatery in Great Falls: Dimitris Greek restaurant. The best way to sum up our dining experience: if my name was Roger Ebert and Dimitris was a movie, it would get four stars. Seriously. The atmosphere, the decor, the service, and most important the food – all excellent!

We were greeted by Jody, who gave us a mini-tour and showed off the stunning art and panoramas, and then were promptly waited on by Angie, who delivered iced coffee and an incredible “fried cheese” appetizer that truly must be experienced. And I’m not talking about the sports-bar “cheese sticks” — this was some sort of Greek cheese that was lightly fried and drizzled with tasty something. We then moved on to leg of lamb and shish-ka-bobs, served with rice and potatoes, and I ventured far outside of my normal “comfort zone” and tried some tasty cucumber and “gyro sauce.” The meats were tender and tasty, and the sides were delicious, too. For dessert: we couldn’t decide on one, so we ordered two and split them both! I’m not sure of the names, but I’ll be sure to report back to you soon with the details. All in all, one of the best dining experiences that I’ve had in years. Congratulations to Jim and Jody, and the entire Dimitris crew for a wonderful time!

UPDATE: GiftShoppeGuy and his lovely bride and boy visited Dimitris and were not disappointed!

  • My Husband and I stopped in for dinner lastnight and I have to say I am still full! We had fantastic food and great service. We ate everything that Jody told us to order. The menu had great choices and I felt to food was well prices. We had appertizers, dinner, dessert and a bottle of wine all for $62.00. We saw many families with children that had big smiles on there face and I have a feeling that this will be our familes new “favorite” place to eat! For sure if this heat keeps up.

  • Not yet, Aaron – Jody said that they will be open for lunch sometime in (IIRC) August.

  • Food was cold and average. Will try again in a couple on months to see if only growing pains or standard fare.

  • Tried it opening week. Friends tried it about 3 weeks after opening. The subject of the restaurant came up and we both had the same problem. We both had to keep asking the waitress for things that we had ordered and she forgot to bring, along with enough utensils, drink refills, etc. The food was alright, the prices were what we expected. We both came away with the same type of opinion of the restaurant…. “typical, nothing special, will probably go back again in a few months”.

  • We just tried out Dimitris and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was terrific, coffee, fresh , hot and strong (the way I like it) service was impeccable.Prices were excellent for food offered.
What else is there to say, except that I wish them luck and hope they’ll stay for a long, long time.
Being European and from the gastronomy field myself, I welcome some worldly flair in our electric city.

  • We had the pleasure of eating at Dimitris last weekend on our trip from Ontario, Canada. We are used to excellent Greek food and were amazed at the quality and selection. Great job staff!!! We highly recommend the premium Greek wines that are served. Special thanks to the young couple, Jenn and John, that made our stay so great and congratulations on the upcoming baby!

  • Had horrible service from the waitress named Jen. She was probably the worst server I have ever seen or had wait on me in my entire life. If you go there and get her – turn and run. Seems like she could use a new attitude.
