After work on Friday I stopped along the Missouri and hung out with the Canada geese for a little while…a few minutes of Goose Zen, if you will. The babies are growing up so fast (sniff)…they seem to be in a “lanky teen” stage. And, of course, as I watched, the babies made a dash towards River Drive, and the parents dutifully blocked traffic…and after spending about two minutes on the other side, they all turned around and marched right back across the street. Silly gooses!
And don’t forget: the scientific name for Canada geese is “branta canadensis!”
