I’ll be honest – I was a bit nervous about this. I wasn’t completely confident that “Grindhouse” would be coming to Great Falls, and when I checked the Carmike site yesterday, my fears were confirmed when I saw the listings for Friday, April 6 and saw no showing for it. But today, my daughter urged me to check the site again, figuring that maybe they simply hadn’t updated it for the weekend yet…and lo and behold, there it was! GRINDHOUSE is coming to Great Falls!
Now, if you’re puzzled about my excitement, let me put this in perspective: I have only seen about 6 or 7 movies in the theatre since I arrived here in 2002. It takes something special to drag me out into a crowded theatre: Kill Bill (v 1 and 2), X-Men 2, Snakes On A Plane, and Superman Returns, and Austin Powers III. Ever since first hearing about “Grindhouse,” I’ve been mentally waiting in line to see it in the theatre, but after “Roll Bounce” missed Great Falls completely, I was skeptical about “Grindhouse” making it here. But whew – here it comes!
And if you’re still baffled about my excitement – come on, Tarantino AND Rodriguez? There is no way – NO WAY – that this movie can be anything but amazing. So – any of you folks going to see it?
An old-school double feature? You’re darn right I’m going.
