Do It In The Road
It’s always good to see folks using novel ways to raise money…but every year when the local firefighters stand in the middle of the road at the intersection of 10th Avenue South and 9th Street, it just amazes me that this sort of activity is legal. Isn’t there a safer way for them to collect money…?

Dave, I stood with a boot on the corner of 9th and 10th for an hour or so Saturday morning. People were very careful drivers when they saw us - uniformly courteous and generous. Lots of Canadians and out of state tourists helped fill those boots, along with many local residents!
I have never been prouder of our city and our firefighters.
It looks more dangerous than it was, and I plan to help again next year.

Well…OK, Dona, but when I participate next year, I still might just stand on the curb
