For years, I’ve paid almost every one of my monthly bills on-line …but every month, I get in my car and drive downtown to pay my City utility bill and my Energy West bill, because neither of them offer on-line payments. I never mailed them because I never buy stamps. But now, lo & behold, it seems that Great Falls is offering on-line bill payment – woohoo! I have only one concern: the acronym for the “Utility Payment and Information System” is…well, UPIS. Intentional humor by a City-employed geek? Dunno, but it reminds me of an episode of “The Simpsons,” where there is a college called the Springfield Heights Institute of Technology.
