PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
CMR High School is hosting the National Forensics League speech and debate tournament this weekend and is in real need of volunteers to judge the tournament. You don’t need any special skills or experience except the willingness to listen to student speeches or debates and choose the one you feel does the best job. We need 93 judges per round and are having some difficulty filling that need. The rounds of competition are Friday February 10th at 4:00, 6:00, and 8:00 PM, and Saturday February 11th at 8:00, 10:00 AM, 12 noon, 1:00 for speech and 1:30 for debate. The rounds are approximately an hour and a half, and we will have hot coffee, Soda, and snacks for all of the volunteers. Please email amanda watson ( amanda_watson @ gfps.k12.mt.us ) or call 268-6231 with the time and day you can help us out.

I served as a judge for a similar event many years ago, and was absolutely impressed and heartened at the intelligence, skills, and poise of the debaters. Encourage this crew by volunteering!

  1. I’ll have to call tomorrow and get in. I was in speech back in the day and always enjoyed coming to Great Falls to compete. This would be a nice way to pay back the hospitality I felt then.
