Ski Season!

posted on Friday, December 9, 2005

The local ski resort, Showdown, has officially opened, and skiers packed the slopes thanks to what many refer to as the best opening in decades. The recent record-setting snowfall appears to have been perfectly timed by the Snow Gods! The official measurements at Showdown on Friday: Snowpack Top: 60 inches; Snowpack Bottom: 45 inches. Before you head out there, check out Showdown’s very good website to check out some history, the list of services and amenities, know how much cash to bring, and how to get there! In related news: if you can’t get to Showdown, you can always try sledding right here in town – but not with the blessing of the city since Flag Hill sledding was banned.
