Mall Happenings

November 20th, 2005 · 5 Comments

Things are really happening over at Holiday Village Mall: the Ross Dress For Less isn’t here just yet, but it will be soon, and now Scheel’s has announced that it will renovate and move into the large empty block that used to house Herbergers. And to accommodate Scheel’s, it looks like Pepper’s Bar & Grill will be relocated, too. The only downside to this whole thing: waiting for it. It will be at least a year - possibly a bit more - before it’s all done. And speaking of the mall, did you know that you can purchase stamps, send and receive faxes, nurse your baby, among other things, at the mall’s FYI Center?

I am very excited to see if the changes start to happen like they outline. The Ross thing has been dragging out for a while now. Very disappointing.

David, I spent the weekend in DC with a group, including John Kramer from the Great Falls Development Authority. I continue to be impressed with his intelligence and drive. He is a dynamo.
Some really good things are coming our way - and I don’t mean WalMart:)
Ross will be a great addition to GF - it all just takes time. I am as impatient as anyone - just ask my husband…In the meantime, we have some wonderful resources right here, and the best is yet to come!

Dave- This is the kind of news Great Falls needs. The declining Holiday Village Mall has been one of the economic holes in the city over the last ten years or so. This was made even worse by Market Place. Why did the city of Paris Gibson allow such a poor example of advance planning? After only a few years it’s max’d out and still seems incomplete as shopping centers go. It has also used up retail critical mass required to anchor a large retail center in a more appropriate location with growth potential.

What about the rumor that Costco is coming to town?
