Wow David. You know you're popular when you have people on your site from Russia, no less. (OK, so I'm keeping a 2-year-old thread alive)

Flefphef, Did you just seriously spam a 2 year old topic? Talk about a waste of time! Anyway since it's here again, does anyone feel differently now, with hindsight, then they did when this was a viable topic?

There's one special secret Sale link on Amazon:

http://tinyurl.com/2r7ldr

This is open every Friday and ONLY on Fridays!

You can find very good discounts here, although some Fridays you can really get
lucky and make off like an Amazon bandit - I´ve seen discounts there as low as 75%
off sticker Price.

I appreciate your clarification &, trust me, know where you're coming from. Newstalk1450 hoped to get a few good questions (instead of the typical Trib talking points) & perhaps post complete, unedited answers from candidates--keeping in mind that more than three questions would make prompt response difficult. Unfortunately, Great Falls again showed its characteristic apathy, so the idea died....

I'd LOVE to see an online forum with participation of all candidates, for every election. Newstalk1450 can't even do something that simple due to security issues (gee, for some reason hackers try to take down sites that feature conservative talkers), but maybe you could host a forum for 2006 election? (In fact, I can give you a contact in Burns' campaign who is interested in answering questions.) If you decide to try again, let me know & Newstalk1450 will link to you.

After all, blog discussions are far more enlightening than any of the media in town.:-)

Hi SallyT! Thanks for stopping by - please forgive my "disdain" -- as a longtime-blogger, it's just frustrating to realize that so many people are still very limited in where and how they obtain news and information.

Well, David, I admit I missed your election blog...do hope you had a bit more luck than Newstalk1450 did. Maybe the candidates (except Dona) aren't online, or interested in communicating with the blog community.

Good to know that someone is paying attention to lowly newstalk1450.com, though, even if you disdain participating. If I'd heard about you sooner, woulda featured a link to your election blog long ago & hyped the hell out of it.

Thanks for being a great media alternative!

Firefly,
That single vote has great power! Put enough of them together, and change happens. It is my belief that our elected officials have forgotten where the true power lies. It is not really theirs - it belongs to all of us, and is only theirs on loan. Government derives its' power from the consent of the governed.
I have been following the Billings mayoral race, and candidate Ron Tussing said something that really resonated with me. "The future belongs to those who are not content with the present."
I would like to invite the blogging community to tonight's forum, sponsored by the Tribune, and held at the Gibson Room in the Civic Center. Commission candidates are on at 6:30 and Mayoral candidates at 7:30.
It should be interesting and informative.

I am of the opinion that Donna has been more objective than many of our current City officials. I have yet to hear her go off in the media about something that concerns her personally, She has obviously used good judgement on past issues on when to step back and not participate. She has participated in this blog with courtesy and honesty.
I have no impact on the outcome of this election except my single vote on election day and do not see how my comments on this blog matter more or less if you know who I am.
